Jamie Alonso is ptg’s Chief Executive Officer. Jamie has a wealth of experience in the engineering and consulting space. Prior to joining ptg, Jamie held the APAC CEO position of global consulting firm, Cardno for 4 years. Jamie spent over 20 years at Cardno during multiple stints, starting out as structural engineer, working in strategy and BD roles before taking on the CEO role. Taking up the role in 2023, Jamie leads the strategic direction of the company. Jamie’s leadership style is very open and consultative and will always support, empower and enable people and teams to be successful. Previously a Consult Australia Male Champion for Change, Jamie is a true believer in an inclusive and diverse workforce and one of his top priorities is ensure Protest offers this for their employees.

Nick has over 30 years of varied experience working at a senior level in multi-disciplinary consulting engineering practices in the United Kingdom and Australia, before joining the team at Protest Engineering. Whilst remaining hands on and client focused, Nick is competent in project delivery, project management, civil and structural engineering and building surveying. Nick has a extensive range of experience in many fields, these include but are not limited to; infrastructure, civil and structural projects within the commercial residential, industrial, retail, leisure, health and education sectors. Nick has experience in all structural materials, he is a specialist in reinforced concrete, steelwork, masonry, and timber design, both in new and refurbishment projects many of which have had heritage input. Nick’s dynamic and enthusiastic approach to clients and projects makes him well respected and recognised across the construction industry. He is highly regarded as a leader and mentor.

Sharon is an accomplished Human Resources leader, boasting a career that spans more than 20 years. Her expertise in both operational and strategic HR priorities have seen her lead large HR teams at global companies such as Aurecon, Cardno (now Stantec), and, most recently, TVH.
She is passionate about engaging employees to maximise their full potential, developing and leading high performing teams, leadership development, collaborating with executive leadership teams and implementing HR strategies across the employee life cycle.
Her proven ability to engage and collaborate with senior stakeholders positions her as a trusted advisor, not only for our team but also for our clients.
Sharon’s wealth of experience aligns with the goals outlined in our strategic plan and with the addition of her experience and guidance, we are confident in our ability to drive forward with key initiatives in the HR, culture and inclusion, equity and diversity spaces.

Liam’s deep strategic approach as Founder has enabled Protest Engineering to continue to grow, transform and blossom into one of the most innovative Consulting Engineering Firms in Australia. Liam understands what it takes to run a multi-faceted and dynamic engineering firm, driving continual growth across all engineering services and construction materials testing (CMT) services.
Prior to forming the business in 2015 Liam was a soil technician for Douglas Partners and Cardno Bowler and has learned the ins and outs of the Industry gaining a depth of technical knowledge from the group.
From the young age of 20, Liam was managing a soil testing site lab on a 17 billion dollar project. Thrown in the deep end, Liam learnt at a young age what it takes to lead from the front encompassing the qualities of a successful manager, ensuring he has a vision and knowing how to communicate and execute.
What started as one man in a garage in Robina on the Gold Coast in 2015 has now formed to be one of the leading innovative Quality Assurance and Consulting Engineering firms in Australia.

With over 20 years of experience in the Corporate Sector, McSweeney has held high-ranking roles in industries including Construction & Maintenance, Energy & Resources, Oil & Gas, Telecommunications, Global Retailer/Wholesaler (ASX50), and Healthcare/Manufacturing.Her experience ranges from COO to leadership in Merger & Acquisitions, Sales & Marketing, Commercial & Contracts, Operations and Logistics, Property & Infrastructure, and Corporate Services. McSweeney has also chaired an Advisory Board and served on the Board of a State Peak Sporting body.
Rhonda brings a wealth of knowledge in areas such as strategic planning, revenue growth, acquisition programs, and business reform, working with ASX, Private Equity, and Government entities.
The addition of McSweeney aligns with Protest’s goals to expand its expertise and grow its business exponentially over the next three years.

Peter is currently a Non-Executive Director of Workpac Group, Metarock Ltd and Independent Cement Group. In his executive career he spent in excess of 30 years with multinational corporations in Australia, Asia, Europe, and the USA. This included 14 years’ experience as Chief Financial Officer for large ASX listed entities including Computershare Ltd and Cardno Ltd. Peter’s extensive experience in mergers, acquisitions and company transformation aligns with Protest’s ambitious growth strategy. Peter holds a Bachelor of Commerce, an MBA, is a Graduate of the Wharton Advanced Management Program, a Fellow of CPA Australia, and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
