Getting specialised drilling equipment to remote locations takes serious planning, serious teamwork and serious coordination. That is exactly what the Mapstone and Groundwave teams delivered through April.
The job was mobilising our LS600 Sonic drilling rig and a full fleet of tracked support equipment, including our own mine spec Vac Truck, to South Australia to keep a Sonic drilling program on track and on time in a genuinely challenging environment.
Why the logistics matter
Moving an LS600 and tracked support machinery to a remote site is a significant undertaking in its own right, well before any drilling starts. It takes expert planning, rigorous safety compliance and a crew that knows how to execute under pressure. Remote work leaves little margin for error. If something is not on the truck, it is not on site, and the nearest replacement can be a long way away.
