Material sampling, mix design and foundation testing for wind turbine generators supporting an 88MW off-grid hybrid power station.

The Brief

The Bellevue Wind Farm needed to reliably supply up to 80% of the Bellevue Gold Project's energy from wind, solar and thermal generation with battery storage. That meant foundation and access infrastructure had to be built right the first time, with no room for materials failures in a remote mine setting.

What We Delivered

Protest sampled borrow pits for material suitability, designed optimal mix specifications, and carried out comprehensive testing of four WTG foundations along with verification of the associated hardstands and access roads.

The Result

Westforce Construction received verified, compliant foundation and access infrastructure for the hybrid power station, supporting a renewable energy facility now powering the majority of the Bellevue Gold Project's operations.
