Regional highway materials testing program
Field density, compaction and strength testing delivered across four major Queensland highway upgrade projects.
The Brief
Four separate highway upgrades (Dawson Highway, Warrego Highway, Maranoa Road and Gore Highway) each needed independent verification that stabilised pavement materials met design specifications, across different contractors and site conditions.
What We Delivered
Protest conducted Field Density Testing (Nuclear Gauge and Sand Cone) to verify compaction against design, Unconfined Compressive Strength testing to measure stabilised material strength, and Compaction Testing to identify optimum moisture content and maximum dry density. Careful curing and moisture control were applied across both lab and field testing.
The Result
Each contractor received consistent, defensible compliance data across all four highway upgrades, supporting safe, durable pavement outcomes across a broad regional footprint.
