Soil classification and shear strength testing delivered for two major Queensland solar farm developments.
The Brief
Solar farm foundations and racking systems depend on accurate soil behaviour data across large, often varied sites. The Wandoan South and Fraser Coast projects both needed classification and strength testing to inform foundation design at scale.
What We Delivered
PGS delivered classification testing, Emerson Class assessment, UU Triaxial testing and Shrink-Swell testing for Wandoan South, and classification, UU Triaxial, Direct Shear and Point Load testing for the Fraser Coast Solar Farm.
The Result
Both projects received the soil behaviour data needed to inform foundation and racking design across large-footprint renewable energy sites, supporting Queensland's growing solar generation capacity.
